Choose To Shine

Hi everyone,

I wanted to try something a bit different to the frames today (but still a home decor item), so I used a piece of wood.   It's quite small ... about 6"x4".

I used the same translucent Fresco Finish paints as for my previous posts this month ... and so I had to paint the wood with Snowflake first.  I also added some Grunge Paste through a stencil, and some text stamping to add some interest in the background.  The Grunge Paste was accented with Treasure Gold.  I went around the edges of the wood with a piece of Cut'n'Dry Foam and Jet Black Archival Ink.

I really like how it turned out ... I have some larger pieces of wood ... perhaps I'll be brave and try one of those next time!

Enjoy!

It's Going To Be A Bright Sunshiny Day

Hi everyone,

Tonight is the last of my frames... and this one shows off one of the fab techniques the translucent paints lets you do...

I started with some book text stuck onto a piece of white Smoothy, and then I stamped ELB04 with Jet Black Archival Ink.   I watered down the translucent Fresco Finish paints, and swiped them over the card with my fingers.   You can still see the stamping through them!  I added a border using an Inktense pencil and a black pen.  Details with a white pen and some shimmery dots (using a stencil, Versamark Ink Pad and Copper Perfect Pearls) finish it off.

Enjoy!

Creating Imperfection Is Magical For The Soul...

Hi everyone

Here's another background in another frame ...

This one was created using the same Fresco Finish paint colours as my earlier post ... in fact most of this background was made swiping up the leftover paint from that background! I built up the layers with stenciling, doodling, paint splattering, bottle top circles (with some doodled spikes!) and topped it off with a quote.   Just as well the quote was about imperfection - as I dropped my water brush and blurred it!

Enjoy!

Nothing Happens Unless First A Dream

Hi everyone,

I've been playing this month with my PaperArtsy Fresco Finish translucent paints to create mixed media backgrounds to go into some frames.

The colours I used included Beach Hut, Glass Blue, Blood Orange, Tango, Eggplant, Limelight and Pumpkin Soup.  And some Snowflake and Little Black Dress of course.  Add in some stenciling, doodling and finger painting, plus a nice quote ... and voila!

Enjoy!

New Stamp Designs - EEG10

Hi everyone,

I'm back tonight with my second stamp set that is being released by PaperArtsy this week ...

This one is EEG10 and is themed around travel ... whether you're going out for the day or you've been somewhere overseas ... I'm hoping you've got lots of photographs to scrap!

It works really well with EEG09 (the summer set I showed you yesterday), as well as any of the other EEG stamp sets (I really wanted all of my stamp sets to be able to work alone or be mixed together).

If you watched the video on the PaperArtsy blog yesterday, then you'll have seen the projects made by my fabulous wingmen for tonight (thank you so much - Hazel Agnew and Paula Pascual).   If you haven't seen it yet, here are some sneak peeks of what you can expect over on the PaperArtsy blog here tonight.

All the new PaperArtsy stamps are available to buy here

I do hope you love this set too ... and please make sure you share a photo of anything you make with the stamps.

Enjoy!

New Stamp Designs - EEG09

Hi everyone,

I have some exciting news ... on the PaperArtsy blog tonight and tomorrow night you will get to see my brand new stamps, and of course lots of inspiration too!

If you don't know already, yesterday kicked off a week of new releases from PaperArtsy with the gorgeous new Hot Picks.   On Wednesday and Thursday you will see the new sets from Lin Brown, and on Friday and Saturday it's Jo Firth-Young's turn!   There is so much fabulousness coming your way!!

But back to tonight ... the first stamp set we're going to show you is this one...

It's perfect for this time of year, with the school holidays about to start, and the lovely weather we've been having here in the UK.

Here's just a couple of photos of some of the projects that I and my wonderful wingmen made (thank you so much - Anneke De Clerck and Lynne Moncrieff).

To see all the projects, and the video we filmed at PA HQ, head over to the PaperArtsy blog here.
